About

Cynthia D. Rendon (Cindy)

I am a trial lawyer. I feel most comfortable in a courtroom advocating for my clients and arguing their cases. Years ago, one of my clients called me the "velvet hammer" and it's a nickname that has stuck.

I am also an effective lawyer.  I do not file papers simply to harass the other side, yell, curse out or otherwise demean opposing parties or counsel, nor do I engage in bullying antics that some people associate as being "aggressive." All that type of behavior does is increase litigation costs without materially advancing the case on its merits. I discourage “scorched‑earth” tactics and instead encourage mediation and collaborative solutions whenever possible.

While I am an advocate of the mediation process, I also understand that sometimes cases must be tried in order to try to obtain a fair and equitable outcome. With that said, my reputation for thorough preparation and effective advocacy enables my clients a range of options including disposition of the case in their favor through motion practice, settlement, trial, or even reaching a favorable settlement during trial.  I approach all of my cases with a passion for the law, intellectual rigor, creative thinking, and a commitment to excellence.

I began my legal career practicing as an assistant district attorney, then went on to practice civil defense representing health care providers, product manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies in catastrophic personal injury and products liability cases for over a decade. My work experience prior to starting my law firm was invaluable. My litigation background gives me  an advantage when representing people whether it be a personal injury or family law matter.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, playing with our dogs, and running.  My favorite non-profits are Jamie's Animal Rescue - adopt and save a life,  Sole Loved - provides shoes to disadvantaged children, and Bel-Inizio - assists disadvantaged women develop self-confidence and life-skills through fitness and nutrition.  I have appeared as a guest speaker on numerous legal topics and lawyer wellness.
