About Cindy Rendon

Cynthia D. Rendon

I am a trial lawyer.  I feel most comfortable in a courtroom advocating for my clients and arguing their cases.

I am also an effective lawyer.  Years ago, one of my clients called me the "velvet hammer" because I am not “aggressive” and demeaning to opposing counsel or parties, but I act calmly and strategically. I don’t file papers simply to harass the other side, yell, curse out or otherwise demean opposing parties or counsel, nor do I engage in bullying antics that some people associate as being "aggressive."  The only thing that type of behavior does is increase litigation costs. I discourage “scorched‑earth” tactics simply to harass the other side. Instead, I encourage making strategic decisions that will materially advance the case on its merits. I also encourage mediation and collaborative solutions whenever possible.

While I am an advocate of the mediation process, I also understand that sometimes cases must be tried in order to try to obtain a fair and equitable outcome. With that said, my reputation for thorough preparation and effective advocacy enables my clients a range of options including disposition of the case in their favor through motion practice, settlement, trial, or even reaching a favorable settlement during trial.  I approach all of my cases with a passion for the law, intellectual rigor, creative thinking, and a commitment to excellence.

I began my legal career practicing as an assistant district attorney, then went on to practice civil litigation where I defended health care providers, product manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies in catastrophic personal injury and products liability cases for over a decade. My work experience prior to starting my law firm was invaluable. My litigation background gives me  an advantage when representing people whether it be a personal injury or family law matter.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, playing with our dogs, and running.  My favorite non-profits are Jamie's Animal Rescue - adopt and save a life,   Sole Loved - provides shoes to disadvantaged children, and Bel-Inizio - assists disadvantaged women develop self-confidence and life-skills through fitness and nutrition.  I have appeared as a guest speaker on numerous legal topics and lawyer wellness.
